I am Lynda Gooby, a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. I offer counselling and psychotherapy from my private practice in Chelmsford, Essex. I have experience working with adults, young people and couples, offering both short term and long term therapy.

Are you confused about what you want from your life, and unable to make decisions? Would you like to find a way to break old, negative emotional or behavioural habits that prevent you from achieving what is right for you and get what you want out of life? Sometimes life can indeed become difficult and frustrating; however, there is no need for you to suffer alone. I am here to listen to you and to help you resolve and overcome all types of negative emotions and feelings.

As a counsellor I will listen to you without judgement or agenda and help you establish what’s right for you. In short, I will not tell you what to do. You will be free to explore your issues without fear of rejection, criticism or blame.

I feel passionate about working as a counsellor and psychotherapist, having seen so many of my clients bring about changes in their lives and resolve their difficulties. I see therapy as the process of learning how to derive the maximum benefit from everyday living, especially in difficult circumstances. This does not mean to deny the reality of our struggles but instead to learn how to embrace life fully and deal with the obstacles in a responsible and creative way.

It can be quite a daunting and nerve wracking prospect deciding to have counselling, not to mention who to have counselling with. This process may take a while for you to decide on. That’s ok, take your time and go with the counsellor who feels right for you.

I aim to make that part of the process as easy as possible for you, so if you have any other questions that may help you decide then please do get in touch and I will do my best to answer your queries.
