About Lynda

I am a fully qualified, experienced integrative counsellor CBT therapist and clinical hypnotherapist providing individual time-limited and longer term counselling.

I have an integrative training which enables me to draw upon a range of approaches including transactional analysis, cognitive behavioural therapy and person centred, to help clients explore what brings them to therapy.

I work with individuals and couples, on relationship issues, anxiety, depression and abuse issues amongst many other things.

I think it is important to tailor my approach to the needs of the individual as I do not believe that one approach is appropriate for everyone. As a counsellor, I will not tell you what to do or take control of your life. I will be non-judgmental, accept you unconditionally and will support you through your journey of self discovery, empowering you to take control of your life. I will provide a confidential and safe environment for you to work in.

I have worked at a local Hospice offering bereavement counselling for a number of years with adults of all ages and backgrounds. I also have experience of counselling children in both primary and secondary schools for a domestic violence organisation along with experience working with adults and couples in private practice. I have over 15 years experience.

Alongside my private practice I am a trauma therapist for the PFOA.  I host meditation group workshops, wellbeing days for corporate clients and CPD events for other counsellors and clinical supervisors

In my previous career I worked as a business manager for a large corporate dental company, hence I have both experience and understanding of the impact of work place stress.

I offer both time limited (6-12 sessions) or open ended, long term counselling.

All sessions are for the therapeutic hour of 50 minutes and progress reviewed on a regular basis.

Couples Counselling

Relationships can become burdensome, conflicting and troublesome, and cause us to feel frustrated, despondent and sad. When this begins to happen, it is usually wise to address the issues before they become worse. Unfortunately, most couples usually turn a blind eye and brush their troubles under the carpet until the problems worsen and become unbearable. When this happens, on last resort, if help like couples counselling is not advanced, then unfortunately the inevitable outcome is usually a separation. Sadly, most separations are very unpleasant and, cause much pain to both parties and their families. To avoid such horrible circumstances from occurring, more often than not requires talking therapy to help you both decide the best way forward.
